The German Finance Ministry has launched its own FinCamp, a new series of events aimed at promoting dialogue with German financial technology companies. The first event focused on the future of digital banking and was held on 14 April 2016. It was attended by about 150 representatives of German FinTech start-ups, banks and associations, as well as staff members of the Finance Ministry, Deutsche Bundesbank and Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Under the patronage of Parliamentary State Secretary Jens Spahn, participants discussed tomorrow’s digital financial services.

The first FinCamp event, entitled ‘The Future of Digital Banking’, took place at the German Finance Ministry on 14 April 2016 with the aim of promoting dialogue with German FinTech companies. It was attended by about 150 representatives of German FinTech start-ups, banks and associations as well as staff members of the Finance Ministry, Deutsche Bundesbank and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Under the auspices of Jens Spahn, the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance, participants discussed tomorrow’s digital financial services.

The all-day event gave FinTech representatives the opportunity to attend workshops and speak directly with staff from the German Finance Ministry, BaFin, and Deutsche Bundesbank.

The concluding panel discussion featured State Secretary Jens Spahn, BaFin President Felix Hufeld, Tilo Hacke from Deutsche Kreditbank, Valentin Stalf from the financial services provider Number26, and Tim Sievers from Deposit Solutions. The panel members presented the results of the workshops for discussion.
