Finance Ministry in Dialogue with Jürgen Stark and Robert Skidelsky

Inaugural Finance Ministry in Dialogue event in a series exploring the topics of growth and sound public finances

On Wednesday, 10 December 2014, Parliamentary State Secretary Steffen Kampeter welcomed the economist Jürgen Stark and economic historian Robert Skidelsky to the German Finance Ministry in Berlin to debate supply versus demand-side economic policies. Robin Niblett, the Director of Chatham House, moderated the discussion.

As part of this special series of Finance Ministry in Dialogue events, the Finance Ministry invites internationally renowned experts to discuss the relationship between growth and sound public finances – two issues which lie at heart of this German government’s policy agenda. In so doing, the Ministry is creating a forum for exchanging ideas between policymakers, academics and practitioners about fiscal and economic policy challenges and engaging in the current debate.
