The G7 members are facing challenges that no single country can solve by itself, including the war in Ukraine, sluggish economies and the fight against inflation. Italian Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti invited his G7 counterparts and the G7 central bank governors to attend the meeting in Stresa to address these issues.
Over the course of two days, former Minister Lindner discussed possible solutions and future action in a variety of formal and informal settings. Former Minister Lindner also met with Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko. During their conversation, former Minister Lindner emphasised that Germany continues to stand by Ukraine’s side, because Ukraine is also defending the G7’s values.
After their meeting, the G7 finance ministers and central bank governors issued a joint Communiqué.
