These extracts feature current data and information on federal budget trends, tax revenue, debt levels and guarantees, as well as key dates on the fiscal and economic policy agenda. The monthly report also includes interesting articles on topics within the Finance Ministry’s remit, a selection of which are translated into English each month.

    The protective shield to manage the coronavirus pandemic is the largest assistance package in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. The package ensures that targeted assistance is quickly provided to those who need it. Assistance totalling €69.4bn has already been approved (as of 15 September 2020).

    Strat­e­gy to counter mon­ey laun­der­ing and ter­ror­ist fi­nanc­ing

    The present strategy is largely based on the insights gained during the European Commission’s supranational risk assessments (SNRA) and Germany’s National Risk Assessment (NRA) regarding the specific money laundering and terrorist financing risks for Germany. The strategy outlines recently initiated steps and formulates selected individual measures aimed at further improving Germany’s system for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).
