    The August edition of the ministry’s monthly report is now online. Every month we publish selected extracts from our monthly report in English. These extracts feature current data and information on federal budget trends, tax revenue, debt levels and guarantees, as well as key dates on the fiscal and economic policy agenda. The monthly report also includes interesting articles on topics within the Finance Ministry’s remit, a selection of which are translated into English each month.

    Key fig­ures: up­date

    The protective shield to manage the coronavirus pandemic is the largest assistance package in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. The package ensures that targeted assistance is quickly provided to those who need it. Assistance totalling €69.4bn has already been approved (as of 15 September 2020).

    Com­pen­sa­tion for Na­tion­al So­cial­ist In­jus­tice

    Almost immediately after the end of the Second World War, it became clear that compensation needed to be provided to those who had suffered damage as a result of National Socialist injustice. Those who had suffered oppression due to their political opposition to National Socialism or on the grounds of race, religion or ideology were particularly affected.

    Ger­man gov­ern­ment adopts more ex­ten­sive Quick Loan Pro­gramme

    In light of the challenges posed by the coronavirus crisis, the German government is launching an additional extensive programme to its protective shield for small and medium-sized businesses. Based on the modified Temporary Framework for state aid measures published on 3 April 2020 by the European Commission, the German government is now introducing a comprehensive Quick Loan Programme (KfW-Schnellkredit) for small and medium-sized businesses. The programme will be run by the government-owned promotional bank KfW.
