The advisory committee is comprised of 20 experts from business, finance, academia and civil society who will provide the German government with practice-based recommendations to simplify sustainable finance regulations and to mobilise private capital for transformation processes. The aim is to achieve the effective simplification of sustainable finance rules and to spur a sustained increase in transformation financing.
The committee brings together leading decision-makers and experts from key sectors of the German economy, including energy, chemicals, steel, cleantech, start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses. In addition to these “real economy” experts, the committee also includes specialists from the financial sector (banks, asset managers and venture capitalists), civil society and academia.
The Practice-based Advisory Committee on Sustainable Finance was launched on 10 June 2026
During the 21st legislative term, the Practice-based Advisory Committee on Sustainable Finance will function as the voice of real-world stakeholders who will help (i) design practice-friendly sustainable finance regulations and (ii) mobilise private investments in sustainable transformation.
